Marketplace Listings
Sellers will list their item or service in a fixed price or auction format. Here’s how to purchase or confidently bid on the Marketplace.
1. Create a Free Marketplace Account
You must have an account to participate in our Marketplace. Registration is 100% free, requires some basic information, and requires verifying your e-mail address.
2. Do Your Due Diligence
Handmade Crafts Fair is an online community-driven marketplace that connects buyers and sellers directly, making it easy for anyone to buy and sell handmade crafts and items with confidence and convenience. While we strive to provide a smooth and secure platform, buyers are encouraged to conduct their own research and review listings carefully before completing a purchase. Taking this extra step helps ensure a positive experience and minimizes potential issues along the way.
As with any community-driven marketplace, factors like item condition, details, and shipping methods may differ from seller to seller. Taking the time to review listings carefully and ask the right questions before purchasing helps ensure a smooth, positive experience for both you and the seller.
3. Images and Descriptions
Take time to thoroughly examine the photos and description in each listing. If anything seems uncertain or inconsistent, reach out to the seller for clarification. You might ask:

Are these pictures of the exact item being sold?

Is there any detail that might not be fully captured or clearly represented in the listing?

Ask questions using the “Questions & Answers” or “Contact Seller” features on the listing.
4. Quality and Authenticity
When buying designer or high-value items, confirming their authenticity is crucial:

5. Shipping and Delivery
Understanding how an item will be shipped can help ensure it arrives safely and on time. If delivery speed matters, be sure to ask the seller about handling and shipping details.

6. Payment

Our Marketplace provides integrated PayPal payments for excellent buyer protection.

Sellers may choose to list other payment methods they accept in their listing, but we encourage PayPal for both buyers and sellers.
7. Place a Bid, Buy Now, or Make an Offer (if available)
Our Marketplace is intuitive and secure:

Fixed priced listings can be immediately purchased by clicking "Buy Now."

All auction bids are binding, so only bid if you’re fully committed and have completed your due diligence.

To keep bidding fair, any bids placed within the final 60 seconds will extend the auction by 2 minutes.

Some fixed price or auction listings may utilize a “Make Offer” option. Submitting an offer is binding — only make an offer if you're ready to follow through if it's accepted.

Buyers must have a valid credit card on file to place a bid or make an offer. Your credit card is secured by Stripe. We never share your credit card with sellers, as it is only used for our Marketplace.

A small Buyer’s Fee is applied to the winning bidder or buyer—whether you purchase through bidding, Buy Now, or an accepted offer—at the time of checkout. Each listing clearly displays its Buyer’s Fee tier, and the amount is fully confirmed during the bid, Buy Now, or offer-confirmation process.
This Buyer’s Fee directly supports our Handmade Crafts Fair independent artisans and helps us maintain a free marketplace where creators can sell without fees.
The Buyer’s Fee is refundable only if the seller does not fulfill the order (for example, if the item is lost in shipping, damaged in transit, or never shipped).
8. Winning an Auction
The highest bidder wins — simple as that.
- If the auction has a Reserve Price, your bid must meet or exceed the hidden minimum set by the seller.
- If the auction is No Reserve, the highest bid wins regardless of the amount.
Once the auction concludes, a Buy Now is made, or a make offer is accepted, you’ll be connected directly with the seller to complete the transaction. Both parties will receive each other’s contact information to arrange payment, local pickup, or shipping. Payment for the full purchase price is made directly to the seller using the payment method(s) they specified in their listing.
